Out Patient & Ambulatory Care

Following can be performed as “Same Day” procedures in carefully selected patients, who are scheduled by appointment and would have undergone appropriate evaluation prior to procedures:

Out Patient (OPD) procedures,

which do not need any admission and can be performed in JIVAS OPD

1. Venous procedures:
  • Diagnostic procedures: Ultrasound/duplex scan, non-invasive studies, MR and CT venograms; Contrast venogram
  • Non-invasive procedures: Intermittent pneumatic compression for leg edema (venous, lymphatic)
  • Minor procedures: in a specially equipped room – sclerotherapy for reticular veins, minor varicose veins, recurrent varicose veins.
  • Surveillance of dialysis fistulae
2. Arterial Procedures:
  • Diagnostic:
    • Duplex scan, PVR (non-invasive physiological studies), CT and MR angiography, TCPo2 (Trans cutaneous oxygen pressure)
    • Treadmill stress testing for differential diagnosis of leg pain while walking
  • Therapeutic procedures (treatments):
    • Assisted exercise program for improving walking distance in patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
    • Arterial assist device – for patients with advanced symptoms with PAD who cannot undergo corrective procedures

Ambulatory (Day care) Procedures:

These patients need several hours’ admission, monitoring in patient, but day care units. These would be only for properly selected patients:

1. Venous procedures:
  • Diagnostic contrast venogram
  • Venous angioplasty and stenting
  • Hemodialysis fistula salvage with angioplasty and central venous angioplasty, stenting
  • Endovenous (laser, radiofrequency) therapy for varicose veins and venous sclerotherapy
  • Vascular malformations

2. Hemodialysis fistula and grafting; insertion of catheter for dialysis

3. Arterial procedures:
  • Diagnostic angiogram for various vascular diseases
  • Minimally invasive endovascular procedures like angioplasty, stenting
